A diaphragm pulsation dampener, also referred to as a pulse dampener or pulsation buffer, is an essential component designed to eliminate pipeline pulsation and water hammer in metering pump systems. This critical accessory ensures smooth and consistent fluid flow, protecting your system from damage and improving overall efficiency.
The diaphragm pulsation dampener features a robust design, consisting of upper and lower housings separated by a high-performance PTFE & rubber composite diaphragm. This advanced diaphragm material ensures durability, chemical resistance, and reliable performance, even in demanding applications.
Technical Spec:
Volume: 0.15L to 20L (see specification table for details)
Rated pressure: 1.0MPA for plastic material; 2.5MPA, 5MPA, 10MPA for metal material (higher pressure can be customized)
Connection method: thread, flange, quick connection, etc., can be customized
Can be equipped with insulation jacket
Materials
Shell material (mainly referring to the liquid contacting part): PVC, PP, PVDF, PTFE, carbon steel, SS304, SS316L, fluorine lining, Hastelloy, etc., can be customized as required
Diaphragm material: PTFE composite NBR (use temperature -20-80℃); PTFE composite acrylic acid ester (use temperature 80-160℃)
Simple method for selecting the volume: multiply the volume of each stroke by 10 to obtain the minimum volume that can reduce 90% of the pulsation.
It is the most commonly used type of pulse dampener. The biggest advantage is that the diaphragm separates the pre-charged gas and the liquid in the pipeline, making it easy to maintain. Under suitable selection and charging conditions, it can eliminate more than 90% of pulsation.
Features of diaphragm pulsation dampener:
• Diaphragm structure separates the medium and compressed air, ensuring long-term stable operation.
• The contact medium parts only include the lower shell and diaphragm. The conventional diaphragm adopts the rubber-lined PTFE form. The PTFE undergoes multiple rolling processes and has good corrosion resistance and high service life.
• Reduces the harm of water hammer to the system, reduces the peak value of flow rate fluctuation, and protects the pipeline, elbows, and joints from pressure wave impact.
• Creates a good working environment for metering pumps and improves the performance of the pump, reducing system energy consumption.
• Allows the use of smaller pipe diameters, reducing costs. When used in conjunction with a back pressure valve, the pressure wave in the pipeline can be reduced to near-zero.
